Education Enrichment
Our education enrichment programme is designed to broaden horizons, awaken interests and satisfy curious minds. We offer a host of clubs that extend and enrich pupils’ understanding and enjoyment of our academic subjects.
Pupils can indulge their creative side in the programme to enhance creative talent, build confidence and learn to express themselves creatively. Young people will find expression, stimulation and self-confidence through activities that take place in and outdoors. This is further developed through our sporting activities, with an ethos of all pupils taking part, being part of a team and having a chance to try.
Through our leadership and community programme students will learn values, discipline, and the reward of leadership and charity to others.
Careers
Careers Education Information and Guidance is an important part of preparing young people for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
A planned programme of activities supports the students in choosing pathways at key transition points that suit their interests and abilities and helps them to work towards a career path and sustainable employment. Our programme empowers young people to plan and manage their own futures.
We acknowledge that availability of information is a key factor in career choice and pathway decisions. It raises aspirations, promotes equality, diversity, social mobility, challenges stereotypes and supports young people to achieve personal and economic well-being throughout their lives. Please refer to Careers Education for more information.
Sport
At Pimlico Academy we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive co-curricular sports offer. Our staff hold some of the highest qualification in football, basketball, and netball, which allows us to offer the highest quality coached sessions within these sports.
We field teams in football, netball and basketball, competing in local and national competitions. Our academy enjoys the use of an Astroturf pitch, sports hall and fitness suite. Students have opportunity to engage in sports throughout the day, from morning basketball sessions to after-school fitness club.
The Arts
Our music department offers an extensive programme of extra-curricular music making: instrumental teaching, several ensembles and choirs, and an ambitious series of concerts and performances that are both integral to the cultural life of the school and vital to students’ holistic musical development.
Our current ensembles include: a choir, a string orchestra, two jazz ensembles, a samba band and synth club. In drama, we produce a whole-school Christmas production and a production for the summer festival every year.

Trips
Access to culture, the arts and sport is foundational to a well-rounded and exceptional education, and is the right of all individuals, regardless of background or circumstance.
We recognise that these experiences are the cornerstone of education and as such we offer a range of trips to top museums, galleries, theatres, and music venues.
We therefore ensure that a holistic approach is taken, with all trips designed to broaden understanding of our knowledge-rich curriculum and to provide students with additional experiences to enhance their cultural knowledge.
Each year, we hold four school-wide Enrichment Days. During these days, every single child attends an Enrichment Activity with their year group. Examples of trips this year include London Zoo, the Tower of London and taken part in drama and drumming workshops.
We also host a wide range of additional trips for students. For example, Year 7 attend an Active Learning Day in their first term to help foster new friendships and Year 8 attend an overnight residential. This year alone, we have had trips to Shakespeare’s Globe, Rome, Paris, and the Houses of Parliament!
